The Face Behind The Hands

Eleesha, or “Lee” as most of her clients know her as, is the owner of Relief Therapeutic Services, LLC. She has been a clinical Licensed Massage Therapist for over 11 years. Her journey into massage therapy was largely accidental—or as she describes it, “a blessing.” From a young age, Lee was fascinated by the movement of the human body.

Her interest in therapy was sparked during high school. While participating in track and field, Lee suffered a severe knee injury known as the Terrible Triad, where the Medial Meniscus, the Anterior Cruciate Ligament, and the Medial Cruciate Ligament all tore simultaneously. The injury required extensive physical therapy, which introduced Lee to the therapeutic side of rehabilitation. While she realized that becoming a physical therapist wasn’t her calling, she was captivated by the healing aspect of the work. Graduated from West Ashley High School in Charleston, South Carolina in 2003, she declared Exercise and Sports Science with a concentration in Athletic Training as her major—a path that felt perfectly aligned with her interests.

Life Changing Challenges

In 2007, Lee faced a life-altering health crisis when she contracted a debilitating infection: Encephalitis Meningitis. This is inflammation on the brain, brainstem, and linings encapsulating those structures. She was hospitalized for twelve days and underwent a long, grueling series of therapies, leaving her with lasting short-term memory challenges even twenty years later. What initially seemed like a setback became a powerful motivator for Lee to refocus her career ambitions.

The Turning Point

Despite these challenges, Lee persevered and graduated from the University of South Carolina Aiken in 2010 with a Bachelor of Science in Exercise and Sports Science, Concentration in Business Administration. She then enrolled at Trident Technical College in Charleston, South Carolina, still aspiring to become an Athletic Trainer. During a lecture, a life-changing moment occurred: as her instructor demonstrated a muscle movement, Lee literally saw all the muscles involved for a particular movement to occur. That moment helped her understand that Athletic Training might not be her ultimate path, even though it took years to fully accept.

In 2012, Lee earned her Massage Therapy certificate from Trident Technical College, which she later upgraded to a license. Her career began to flourish after this milestone. It wasn’t until the birth of her son in 2017 that Lee fully recognized her gift. She immersed herself being the Sports Massage Therapist for College of Charleston Men’s Basketball Team, working with the team’s chiropractor within his establishment, becoming certified in KinesioTaping, Myofascial Cupping and Medical Massage Practitioner.

The Birth of Relief Therapeutic Services

Eventually, Lee’s dedication and God-given gift passion culminated in the creation of Relief Therapeutic Services. Her approach combines massage therapy with an Athletic Training and Physical Therapy twist—not by design, but as a natural extension of her talents and experience. Today, Lee continues to provide expert care, blending her knowledge, skill, and compassion to help clients heal and thrive.
